A light in the tunnel, a photo from Boa Vista, Barlavento

Photographer's Note

The most popular spot along Praia da Varandinha is the natural cave called Bracona. It is wide and therefore hard to photograph. I decided to include more of the dark area here to get a better feeling of its depth. Interestingly, this is a view which I often see among photos from Boa Vista even though most of the coast has no rocks just sand. I cannot really give exact location of this cave, the satellite photos do not have good enough resolution to find the place.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lep prirodni tunel sa pescanom polazom i talasima na zelenom moru, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Lepo mesto za setnju sa lepim pogledom.

This is a magnificent picture and a great composition.
Even though the photo was taken from inside a cave, we get a sense of enormous space.
Splendid with the different horizontal layers of shadow of the cave, sunlit beach, white foam of the waves, green sea, blue sky and dark overhanging cave wall.

You made excellent use of the dark cave and its shadow in the sand to frame the view of beach, sea and sky. The contrast is wonderful and you handled the lighting really well.

Hi Mariusz,
Wonderful cave opening to the beach. Contrast is extreme and I believe the cave roof looked black even with your own eyes. I didn't expect that such a place could be found in Boa Vista. Obviously satellites have totally wrong angle to spot caves!

Hello Mariusz, an eye catching thumbnail invites a closer look.
The difficult light is managed really well, we are able to see the sand with its many footprints.
As I have said before, the sea is such a beautiful colour, and the sand looks very inviting for a stroll along the beach.

P.S. In fact, I had prepared a few other photos of Georgia, but the trips pending to show are piling up, right now without counting the one I have started in Galicia, I have five pending and in September I will do one more, so it is difficult for me to reduce them so much.

I love views out of natural openings, especially when the view is so pleasant. Well, the cave makes a kind of arch, so I think this qualifies for my Best of Arches collection.
