Photographer's Note
Ifaty is a beautiful little beach village to the north of Tulear, on the south-west coast of Madagascar. Being English, I'd never realised how warm the sea could be before I swam in the Mozambique Channel here.

Hello Matt!
Thanks for this view of land of eternal summer. To view it is especially nice after the long winter in Northern country..
But I can suggest where the sea may be warmer - it is Red Sea somewhere in Egypt. Isn't it?
Kind regards,
Igor

Hello, Matt.
A lovely picture of a beach in Madagascar!
What a wonderful island it is - isn't it? I was there because one of my daughters was studying lemurs and, after that, we met up and travelled around a little for a couple of weeks. It really is a fabulous place and I'd love to go back again. We spent some time on the west coast near Morondava and, of course, passed along Baobab Avenue. We also spent a few days in the island of Nosy Be in the northwest and saw some black lemurs in the Lokobe naure reserve in the southwest of Nosy Be.
Unfortunately, in those days (2001), I didn't have a digital camera. I had my lovely old Olympus OM1N but I think the film I took was either cheap or out of date and the pictures never really turned out that well. I must go back again!
Anyway, a lovely picture with wonderful colours - makes me nostalgic!
Best Wishes,
John.
