Photographer's Note
Three different modes of transportation getting ready to leave after the market has finished.
The famous Djenné mosque in the background.
---
Djenné is a small town in the Inland Niger Delta region of central Mali. Djenné is famous for its Sudanese-style architecture. The town is famous for its distinctive mud-brick (adobe) architecture, most notably the Great Mosque which was built in 1907 on the site of an earlier mosque.

That's an interesting composition. The poverty is shown by these old cars and the primitive road, but sometimes, the life is more enjoyable in simplity. Well seen.

Hello Benny
The Peogot 404 is 40 years old and work perfectly on bad roads on most of French speaking countries of Africa. I can't imagine the latest types of cars in 40 years...
Cheers

Hello Benny,
I never went in Mali, but for sure one day I will.
I like the way you manage the classical white sky of this part of Africa. The few leaves in the top are changing a lot the impact of this sky making it interesting and underlining the lines of the mosquée in background.
Yves.

hi benny
main insterest is clearly captured in great detail and sharpness portraying the local environment. Interesting architecture in the background quiet unique. Good pov, the vehicles spread out in the fg wih nice inclusion of leaves/tree branches filling the empty sky, good consideration. congrats, tfs

Hi Benny
Ooooooh, a Pijot 404 ! They still run them in Africa, an image representative of transport in the region and feaaturing the famous landmark mosque, but it is overexposed and you lost highlights details... reading the parms I see it was taken before the high tech era of live histograms !
Have a nice day JY

I remember seeing this photo a few days back, but what this eye of mine that is troubling me, I have to take so often leave from the monitor that I end up commenting only a few pictures...
anyway - it's a strange light I see here, strong and white and blinding. the white sky echoes it, the adobe in the background highlights it. and the lack of people gives it an eerie feel... I like it a lot.
PS: I just noticed that in your intro you say that you listen to the Fall... I recall a stormy concert of the Fall here in Amsterdam, Mark E. Smith was pissed for some reason and kept leaving the stage... and the audience was more pissed than him... it ended up with a lot of stuff being flung at the stage :)
have a good evening,
c.
