Namib Sands, a photo from Hardap, South

Photographer's Note

I was struck by the different colors and textures of these adjacent dunes at Sossulvlei - the first was a low flat hill made up of fine red sand, the middle was coarser gravel, and the farthest was a high dune of red sand.

Yes, I love the layers, too! The image seems noisy - have you tried to filter out the digital noise? Perhaps try Filter>despeckle, or the free download of Neat Image program. Well seen! -Jenn

Beautiful, David... It愀 almost like a painting, I like how you play with the sand in order to portrait similar colours. Wonderful nature in a hard enviroment.

Unbelievably beautiful, both as a spectacular natural scenray and as a graphical representation of colours and lines. There seems to be some digital noise in the sky. That could actually quickly be removed - and should if you are going to print this. Which I would do if it were mine.

This is a nice picture. It could pass as a modern abstract painting. If you had a little bit more of the blue sky it would have been better. The photo is noisy but that can be remedied by softwares such as NIK or Neat Image.

Magnificent photo with these floors of sand, forms and colours. I like very much the black spot at the top which stops our glance. Nice composition for me. A little of noise however in the image, Neat Image is an excellent program to ease these pixels. Goode shot!

Wow, spectacular image. Really good composition, you have captured all the element very well. The noise introduced by yscanning the image can be easily reduced using NeatImage. But the image and its textures the very, very good.

Hello David,

The different textures between the three layers formed by the dunes render a standout graphical impact (especially the one in foreground looking like a fingerprint). A pity that the sky be dirty in the right side. Nevertheless, Well done. This photograph is very well composed.

The textures and colors of your composition are superb!
It's a very graphic shot and I particulary like the combination with that cyan sky.
