Photographer's Note
In 1992, the Bronkhorstspruit City Council donated 6 hectares of land to the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order to be developed into a Chinese Buddhist, Cultural, and Educational Complex - about 50km from Pretoria.
The result is very impressive in terms of size (the photo only show a small pavilion), and quite surprising to see in the African landscape.
All Fo Guang Shan temples throughout the world are working to promote humanistic Buddhism and to transform people and the world under the direction of Master Hsing Yun.
The main temple was officially opened in 2005. There are presently over 250 Fo Guang Shan temples throughout the the world.

Hi andre. Impressive POV making it look as if the building is about to take flight with its multiple "wings". I like the combination of grasses, shrubs, sky and building from this low angle. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Andre
A fine shot of a bizarre - in this context - but beautiful building. I very much like your chosen viewpoint, as it creates a perhaps symbolic relationship with the temple. We are aspiring heavenwards...

Hi Andre,
The POV is very unique, making the pavilion of the temple well framed by it surroundings. A superb shot!

Hello Andre,
Certainly an unexpected building to be found in the middle of South Africa but this sort of information is what TE is all about.
You have captured the temple in an attitude which makes it appear to be praising the sky in a most uplifting pose and the f/g tree, whilst balancing the scene is, also, very much part of the mood.
The crop ensures that no other details stray into this scene to distract from the focal images.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Andre,
It's nice to see this unexpected temple in South Africa. I like the traditional pagoda architecture, and the bright colors. The view, looking up through the brush is very effective. The moody sky also adds to the overall scene. Nice capture of Africa and Asia coming together. :-)

Hi Andre,
Chinese pavilion in Africa? A little bit surprised. But think again. For seeking better life, Chinese are everywhere in the world.
Your wonderful pictures from Africa revealed real life from this great land. Please show us more. We really enjoyed it.
