doing the tourist thing, a photo from North-West, East

Photographer's Note

Another photo taken during the conference I recently attended at Sun City, a casino resort in South Africa's North-West province.

This bridge, guarded by statues of mighty elephants, serves to link the Hall of Treasures in the Lost City Entertainment Centre with the Valley of Waves (which is a man-made beach with real sand and waves!). An ingenious mock-volcano regularly erupts here, causing loud roars and smoke to bellow forth from deep within the Temple of Creation. Even the bridge itself shakes when this happens.

Whenever the mock-volcano errupts, tourists flock to the place to take photos and to feel the bridge shake. It is quite funny to watch, actually... :-)

it is a nice picture, i like those warm colours - blue sky, red rocks and elephants. The turists in the smoke look funny, well captured situation.

Beautiful colors, and place, nice atmosphere.
Lovely scene. Elefants are really a beauty themselves. Nice to be there!

Leave it to tourists to look like tourists! The rich colors of the elephants and the rocks really frame this image nicely!

Great quality composition : perfect sharpness, well saturated colors and very good contrast between the sky and the rocks. Thanks to the great DOF, those ones are well detailed. I particularly like their "texture" in relief here.

Strange place, the colors are strong and the image is clean, it is well made.
