Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: I have already posted a similar POV in landscape format. I had meant to post this photo, as I like the way the sun lit up the orange in the rocks a little more. This is Binalong Bay, home to many wondeful breakfasts, lunches, dinners and picnics during my stay in Tasmania. This part of the Bay is known as "The Gulch". My last photo was taken from the beach which is also part of Binalong Bay. The Bay's only restaurant Angasi is named after the delicious oysters which are pulled straight out of these waters.

Good afternoon to you, Lisa!
It's nice trading trips with you this way...
I like this view of Binalong Bay, too. The orange of the rocks is really nice, the dof is great again, too. The grad made the clouds look just a little threatening, adding drama to the scene, for certain. I wouldn't mind trying some of those oysters myself!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Lisa
This is a really nice view. The shadows and the light are very well managed. The sunlight on the rocks and the colors on it gives a very warm effect. I also like portions of blue sky reflecting on the water.

Hi Lisa,
Beautiful work, I am so jealous! Both about the Tasmania and about the excellent quality of this shot.
The light is unearthly with these dark clouds making an incredible contrast. It feels fantastic and the effect is well enhanced by the strong shadows on the rocks. Very well chosen foreground, I like the vertical frame.

Hi again, Lisa,
The beautiful warm light on the rocks seems more prominent in this one than in the landscape version, which I like, and I also like the way the rocks are organised in the fg, that "bending row" to the left of the centre. It is good that in making a few steps to the side (as compared with your previous shot), you still managed to keep a bit of a break between the two large rocks on the horizon. Closing the horizon off completely would look strange, I think. And again, as in the previus post from this place, the colours are extraordinary!
Compliments and hugs from Prague,
Dasha

Its more of 'Drama in Pieces' than in Orange :)
i'd say the light has been perfectly caught on the rocks, you really had to expose for the rocks..there is an even distribution of shadows which has given the softness to the frame..only an ND could have given you definition in the sky, were you using it ?
Not too many who are covering this part of australia..keep going dear

Hello Lisa! I was going back and forth trying to figure out if I prefer this version or the other one, but I guess I go for "drama in orange" although I mean both are breath taking. I think in this one the light is even more exciting on the rocks in the back. Just a little bit more sunlight, and bang, here we go, the drama is complete. The grey sky is amazing and helps to bring out the colors in the sunlit parts. Love your note of course ... one day you see us sitting there in this restaurant trying to eat oysters ... I have never tried them raw but overbaked with cheese (this was in France) ... this is how far I went but I loved it actually but raw ... next time. Have a good week, Barbara.

Ciao Lisa!
Mia figlia andò in Tasmania e ci mostrò bellissime foto (cf rachelonthego on TE, ma inattiva ora sfortunatamente.)

Hello Lisa,
I did not have to go further than your last post to see that you have indeed much talent with your keen eye and for compositions. This image struck me as I first saw of course the rich orange of the rock, but the stepping stones leading one's eye into the far reaches of the image is what drew me to comment on this excellent photo. The clarity and balance of the image is beautiful, as well as the compliments of violets and oranges.
Well seen and captured...

Hi, this is a really visually stimulating picture because of the orange colors. The temptation with landscapes is to shoot the scene with a wide angle lens and place the picture in a horizontal format. So I wonder what more was there. Great DOF by using a tripod and choosing f/11for clarity and a one second exposure.I wish I could travel to this amazing place but I will have to settle with viewing it through your photos.

Hallo Lisa,
Vriendelijke groeten,
Robert
