Lake Komani Dock, a photo from Shkoder, North

Photographer's Note

If you are ever in Shkod褰, in the far north of Albania, some of the guesthouses arrange tours of the Komani reservoir with a shuttle bus there and back. Well worth doing as public transport to the dam is limited. This was my boat. There were larger boats but this one was able to get further upstream and between gorge walls, into spots off limits to the big boats. Taken near the dam wall and carpark.

For a moment, I thought that this had a green colour cast, as the yellow ramp looked 'off'. But then it occurred to me that yellow plus blue equals green. The base paint on the ramp is blue, covered by a thin layer of yellow paint.

Hello Chris, A magnificent colors cast under the bright sunshine day.
the man at the boat and the red Albania flag stand out against the beautiful nature in fine contrast of colors with the subject.

Hello Chris,
There are lots of catchy details here, including the boats, lake, hills and the Albanian flag. The colours are well saturated bu within a "normal" range. I didn't spend enough time in Shkod褰 to make room for this kind of excursion, which was probably a pity.

Hello Chris, it is interesting to read that there are boat trips on a reservoir.
Then you inform us that further upstream there is a gorge, so definitely worth a trip.
An excellent composition with the young man and the boats in the foreground.

Hi Chris,
What a place to have a boat tour! Steeply rising mountain slopes on the other side of the lake really invite to get closer by boat. Interesting note about green tones. I guess you are right. The green colour of the water is also typical for such lake.

hello Chris, beautiful lake with the fantastic colour of the water. nice boat with the straw roof. The Albanian red flag with the black eagle contrasts nicely with the green. But the lake rather not for swimming.
