Photographer's Note

Riding from Sapa to the south-east the road goes over a pass of 2400 meters. The landscape is fantastic and very enjoyable especially when you go down on your bike.

Hello Gerrit,

I had to smile at the thought of you free-wheeling down the steep slope!
On the other hand, it must have been hard work, pedalling up the opposing side!

This is an extensive view with a mysterious atmosphere, created by the swirling mist.
You have composed this really well, the bright yellow tree anchoring the f/g, whilst the snaking path makes a very effective guide into the scene.

Hallo Gerrit, this picture proves that high mountains exist in Vietnam, in its north part. The slopes are covered with dense forests. A road is snaking, it connects different valleys. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

The view of the road on the mountains is great, taken from a fantastic POV, and the fog makes the atmosphere much more interesting and even mysterious! The inclusion of the trees in the foreground adds very good depth to the view! Wonderful composition!

What a fascinating mountain landscape and the mist gives an extra feel of depth with the yellow tree lends such a tremendous breaking colour. You have attained a very delicate exposure between brightest and darkest areas but I can almost feel the chill and sense of quietness. A quality shot, Congrats

Hi Gerrit,
very picturesque area indeed. Yellow leaves and naked trees indicate a rather cold season.
The clouds are hanging low and we try to imagine what is behind them with some partial silhouettes visible through.
The curve of the road makes a nice decoration to the hills as well.
I can imagine it must have been a very enjoyable bike ride. Especially downhill :)
