Bonsoir Jean

Hi Jean
The theme of your photograph is by far better than the intrinsic technical details.
What a POV you've got there, clear sky and therefore greater visibilty. One really gets the scale of this Namibian Desert through your photograph.
Great work, however I would have preferred a better note though, with a few details of where you were headed and this place where the shot was taken...
Cheers, Blue

I think the composition is fantastic- similar scenes often come out looking all the same and without strong visual pulls- but that is not the case here. I was going to suggest that you intensify the colors a bit, but on second thought I feel like this slightly washed out, sun-bleached state is the most true to your surroundings. At any rate- I love it, you have done a lovely job of capturing it.

Salut Jean

Hallo Jean,
A grassy plain shining beautifully in golden is really impressive, and the sinuous road leads the eye to across the image. A car of the same colour as the plain brings a nice accent to this splendid image. Beautiful light indeed!

Hi, Jean,
The sun angle works perfectly here, low and at about 90° to our line of sight. The resulting illumination of the short grasses provides this luminous pale yellow carpet over most of the land surface. In the distance, as the details fade, it almost looks aqueous. The "islands" of brown rock emerge impressively from this sea.
The road guides the viewer nicely into the middle of the scene and then deposits us and departs to other purposes.
Regards,
- William

Hello Jean,
I admire the hostile looking landscape!
The colours all scream dry dry, only broken by the road winding through the scene...
The rugged mountains are breaking the monotony of the plains, nicely lit by the low sun!

Hello Jean, all your recent photos of Namibian landscape are wonderful but I go for this one because you had an excellent perspective here, allowing us to enjoy the vast semi-deserted wild plain. The curved road and the yellow car add a bit of life to this beautiful compo. Regards, Tolga

Well, you have got my Namibian wife homesick - which is a sign of a great photo: she normally looks at Namibian photos and just gets annoyed that the photographer hasn't managed to capture the spirit of the country.
It is a fantastic photo - but sometimes the cost of progress is that our fantastic photos could have been even better if we had been there 4 or 5 years before: the road has only been recently tarred and I suspect the self-same photo, but with a dirt road, would have been even better.
Congratulations on really getting the spirit of this great country in your Namibia portfolio.

Desert scenery, like moon-face landscape, very impressive picture of the vast area, jean.
At least 8 different soil & rocks colors I had counted.
Good view till far in the horizon, DOF and clarity are remarkable.
Bonjourne'e.

Bonjour Jean - I've been looking through your Namibia shots again, this one (taken on the road to Sossusvlei I think?) shows off the soft colours of the morning very beautifully and conveys that feeling of a 'never-ending'landscape very well. Nice work Warm regards rosemary
