Photographer's Note
An Afghan woman is being photographed by a street photographer in Kabul, Afghanistan. It is uncommon to see an Afghan woman being photographed in public in Afghanistan, but some have to do it in the streets because it is the cheapest way to get photos they need for official documents.

More than woman, its the young man draws my attention with his hand in standing and strange look. Also there is another man in the back.

Hi Steve, what a great glimpse into daily life in Afghanistan. And that's some huge camera he has there! Excellent composition. TFS, Roberto

very exceptional shoot in very dangerous place, the blue of the dresses talk with the red of the camera. expressive faces, good light. I'm very happy to see this photo.

Hi Steve,
It is not the best photograph but an important one, I feel. Something you don't expect to see perhaps. What I also think is quite important here, is the husband (I assume)...looking over at you cautiously/protectively. To be expected when you are taking pictures of his wife...
In fact, it is getting better the more that I look at it, as I am noticing her clothing (underneath her dress, her shoes, warm clothing, etc)...all make for important elements.
An interesting scene.

This is a very good documentary shot, showing us a rare glimpse of life in Kabul, a place that I have long wanted to visit.
I'd have preferred it without the bearded guy peering over the camera, but in these situations you have to work with what's in front of you, and I think you've done very well her.
Good work Steve.
Cheers,
Ben

Wonderful documentary shot. Totally different circumstances of course, but not only the equipment but the facial expressions are the same as those in the 19th century of the western world.

Hi Steve,
Excellent work, not many pictures coming out of Afghanistan and this is as good as it gets. The whole scene is like out of a street theatre specialy with the dramatical pose of the man overlooking the photographer.

Hi Steve, This is ideal for TE to show how others live in far away places. It is interesting to see the age and type of camera being used rather than a little digital. Good POV. TFS. Murray.

They use antique cameras on the streets. I'd love to have one like that, but for studio use only:)
