Photographer's Note
The butcher has his stall set up outside the roti (bread) shop, above was our hotel. The freshly baked roti smelt delicious wafting up the stairs unfortunately as a vegetarian I can't say the same for the butcher, but it was fresh every morning, as soon as the meat was finished he packed up shop and was not seen again until early the next morning.rnThe children had been sent to pick up the meat and rotis before school.

Hello Elaine,
I like the curious look of the little girl watching you, maybe with a hint of a shy smile. The boy looks like he could belong to one of the ethnic minorities of the Hill Tracts. It's an interesting photo with lots of glimpses of daily life.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Elaine, the black and white presentation works so well for this scene, and is beautifully sharp.
The shy little girl looks at you, she is quite charming.
No-one else takes any notice of you with your camera, all too busy with their work.
I like the boy watching the butcher.
Excellent observation.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Elaine,
As a vegetarian you cannot permit this meat, but the smell can sometimes be enough.
The children are apparently a bit more patient than in our countries
Taken with excellent sharpness and clarity.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Elaine,
For me the inclusion of the children makes this photo really wonderful.
The boy looks at the butcher with hope and the girl has discovered someone else that sparks her curiosity.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Elaine, In the exotic markets, the butchery shops or stands are usually most shocking for Western tourists. I wonder if they prepare something with this meat in the kitchen behind?
I like the interested look of the girl. The boy looks at the butcher.
Best regards Malgo

Hi Elaine,I don't think I'd buy meat here, especially after all the food hygiene courses I've had to do for my job, but I've seen even worse in my travels. Gorgeous scene of everyday life in your classic black and white and with someone watching you. Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Elaine,
I wonder how many western European children have such jobs to do before school.
This is such a natural, daily-life photograph, beautifully composed.
The star of the show is the little girl, shyly peeping at you!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
