In this tour of the temples and other features of Siem Reab I am working through my files in alphabetical order.
Now for a brief visit to the most famous of the temples and largest religious structure in the world - Angkor Wat. Unlike other temples in the area Angkor Wat was never abandoned to nature and has been in continual use since it was built in the 12th century so it is very complete.
Plenty of photos of the main views have been posted on TE so I'll just post a couple of different views starting with this group of 3 bas-reliefs. These amazing sculptures stretch around the outside walls of the central temple complex and require a slow leisurely walk to see them all. This meant that you were walking away from the massive crowds that swamp Angkor Wat.
