Photographer's Note
I came across this impression in Beijing's 798 Art District. I have been able to find that three is linked to progeny, childbirth and the sanctity of life and have found that it could symbolize the path from Heaven, Mankind to Earth...a path of manifestation. The number five is a symbol of luck. It brings out the numbers two (yin) and three (yang), it refers to 5 sacred mountains (TaiShan the Peaceful, HuaShan the Splendid, SonShan the Lofty, HenShan the Balancing, and HengShan the Permanent), 5 Chinese grains (soybean, wheat, rice, millet, hemp), 5 elements (earth, wood, fire, water, metal), and 5 Chinese blessings (luck, longevity, prosperity, wealth, happiness). If anyone has anything further to add or you see a mistake, feel free to let me know.
