Photographer's Note
The central district is one area of the Hong Kong island northern coast located in central west in Hong Kong. It is located in the opposite side which faced across the Victoria harbor from southernmost Tsim Sha Tsui(尖沙咀) of Kowloon. It is a central business district in Hong Kong, and there is headquarters of many multinational financial institutions. Achieving a duty as money centers from the beginning of the British colonial days in 1841, after the Hong Kong handover in 1997 is bearing the duty as an executive center. Although after return it is yielding Shanghai the commercial center, it has still played the large role of the foreign trade in China. Politically, it is in one country, two systems enforced after return. The freedom of association and meeting are accepted now. Since the diplomatic right of Hong Kong belongs to the People's Republic of China central government, the future situation seems to opaque. This photograph was taken towards Central District of Hong Kong island from Tsim Sha Tsui of Kowloon. It seems that the building is changing more now.
This photograph is scanned with CanoScan Lide60 and digitized.

Bonjour, Mikio,
Très belle présentation panoramique de la ville. Les immeubles de grande hauteur rivalisent quant à l'architecture.
Une image qui n'a rien perdu de son charme (photo de 1994).
Amitiés.

Nice old shot over HK from before the Chine handover, Mikio.
Fine clear details of the skyscrapers, which had changed it's skyline since. Well scanned and cropped for better compo.
Best regards,

Howdy Kato,
Fine panorama of the international Hong Kong massive waterfront architecture. The lack of landscaping makes for a concrete world dominating every inch.
Thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
Ray

Hello Mikio,
This is a precious historic postcard. You have captured the skyline very well. The two groups of high rises on either side balance each other. It's hard to believe Hong Kong was under British rule back then, one of the last vestiges of colonialism.

MT

It's fairly good pano scanned image which gives a wide view of the skyline and the eye catching concrete jungle. Although the colors are not the best but it's worthy of record shot, Well done, TFS
