Photographer's Note

We Indians may have some difficulties when it comes to standing in queues. But it seems we don’t mind sitting in one. I got these guys in one such queue while they were busy brushing their teeth!!! One can discern the two clay idols of typical Hindu gods (extreme left) joining this queue as well!!
We Indians do have a weird way of doing rather simple things huh!!

Hi Ananya,
an interesting image. Daily life in Kolkata and at the same time "strange life for my eyes", seeing these guys doing their teethbrushing in comunity and having this position. As I never saw it befor thank you for giving me your eyes to see this.
Good composition and nice colours.

Hello Ananya,
amusing from a perspective of western eyes. I can't imagine myself cleaning my teeth whilst queueing for anything. But then again I I have to rely on a toothbrush and pate. I like your POV, the composotion and the colours. But tell me, what are they waiting for?

Thats the famous Daatun brushing..very well taken by you.I guess you shud have given a note on this twig brushing (neem) which is so prevelent in Rural India..

This is an excellent composition Ananya..you've heard already from my fellow critiques about the quality, so I won't mention that. Your compo. is very strong indeed & the symmetry of our sitting brethern is good. Indeed more fascinating are the protimas of Ma Kali, seemingly sitting in queue. Well done Ananya..keep shooting such beauties & remember to use your full quota of 200 KB per photograph, you'll get a better resoloution for sure

lovely shot and particularly impressive composition. brushing with a 'datoon' is still so widely prevalent in India, its shocking at times:D also like the reddish tinge in the BG wall and the dhotis of some squatters in the pic:) which ghat is this?
