The road from Leh to Manali is a rugged route only for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. For most of its length, it passes through country so barren as to be entirely devoid of settled habitation. But one would find many amazing yet diverse sights like this one all though the route. It has to be road travel if you want to truly enjoy the beauty offered by these unexplored lands.

This is Bhaga river running along the road after crossing Lachulung La(Pass) which is at an altitude of 16,616 feet.

The water is so beautifully blue! The barren landscape (expected at this altitude) creates a raw beauty. Do you use Photoshop? If yes, I might have liked you to push up the contrast a bit, would have added some punch to the picture. Composition good in a diagonal

I am intrigued to know more about this.

The scale looks altogether daunting - I trust you're shooting from the road edge at a sheer cliff - but that could even be the road you're referring to, at the bottom, in the distance. And - what is breaking the river up - surely not ice or ash? It must be incredibly rare to see a sight such as this.

Very impressive - well done!
