Sunset at Binsar (Uttarakhand), a photo from Uttarakhand, North

Photographer's Note

Dear friends,

I traveled at Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand at the middle of October, 2011 and captured this beautiful moment from its adjacent forest area.

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Himalayas on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. It is about 33 km north of the Almora town in Uttarakhand, India. From a place called Zero Point in Binsar one can see the Himalayan peaks like Kedarnath Peak, Shivling, Trisul and Nanda Devi.

The sanctuary is spread over 45.59 km� and situated at an altitude varying from 900 to 2500 metres with an average height of 2412 metres. It is located 35 km from Almora in the state of Uttarakhand.

This was the time when the sun set under the dark portion of valley. I got an opportunity to shoot it.

Hi Swapan,
fascinating the sunset colours over Binsar with the sun to looks like to be burned.The dark clouds mixed with the red reflections from the beans of the sun making the scene unique.

Amazingly red sunset, the graphism and the saturated colours create a resemblance to a poster or cartoon. Great composition with some delightful rays of sun visible in the top part.

I really like the black-red contrast on this picture.
Black clouds on a background of red clouds and the position of the sun at the bottom, on a complete dark background.
