This is the Aurangabad coach station, in Maharashtra, central India. I had arrived here by train from Bombay, as it was called then, in the heath of Indian July 1985, after a long and utterly uncomfortable journey, to visit the famous caves and frescos of Ajanta (see next posts), one of the most beautiful and remarkable artistic and archaeological sites of India. From Aurangabad I had to take two more coaches to reach Ajanta.

Helo,
I have not been to Aurangabad, but I recognize this kind of moment well. So many times in India I have been the focus of everyone's attention, although I noticed on my most recent journey a few years ago that people are getting more used to foreigners. It's an amusing and very typical view and an excellent scan.

Gert

Hi Donato
Lovely humanity subject filled with hordes of characterful faces at a crowded station. I think they certainly know how to face your lens that you have made the best possible way to illustrate them in chaotic situation with a sensible depth in this. A classic people candid which is aptly converted to mono with strong point of focus, excellent tonal range and sharp where it counts. An honest image well taken, Congrats.
Best regards

Ciao Donato.
A nice shot and, last but not least .. a great scanner.

Hello Donato,
It sounds like my trip in 2004. I also came by night train from Mumbay (it was the new name already) and then by buses to Ellora and Ajanta. after visiting these fascinating places, the next night was in the train to Hyderabad. I remember Golkonda as the hottest day I has ever experienced. And the third night was in the train to Chennai (Madras). I must say, it was crazy journey. :). So I was in this railway station but I do not remember it. Yes, it is funny feeling when all stare at you. It also happens now in less visited places. Nice black and white picture. Even if not the best quality but the precious moment.
Kind regrads MAlgo

Buona giornata,Luciano

Hi Ingenua
i enjoy this one very much. those benches look VERY uncomfortable to sit on. and its amusing how many of the people have your attention. also, i like how the subject content basically repeats itself from the fg to the bg
cheers

Ciao Donato,
fantastic documentary picture, The black and white already introduces the feel of an old photograph and it is indeed from the pre-digital times.
Very exotic and adventurous travel. I remember one we got off the subway in Buenos Aires and it was away from any tourist destination: people were staring at us so much it was quite funny feeling.
Fantastic scene from the station.
Great quality of the scan.
