Photographer's Note
In marine drive, Bombay...a family stealing some quiet moments amidst the hubbub of the metropolis. The father points to the Bombay highrisers...the place of the wealthy...while the mother gazes at it. The kid, I guess gets yet another dream added to his kitty.
Bombay..Dream On!

Impressive shot and lovely moments of peace, tranqulitiy and...far away from the madding crowd. The B&W version appeals.

Hello, Durba--
Nice work here, i like how you left lots of space on the right for us to follow the man's pointing finger, and the rail on which they are sitting serves to lead into the frame as well. The soft background buildings add context without being distracting. Thanks!

This is beautiful Durba. A very intimate picture of an Indian family with a dream, a dream to have a better life. Dad is telling his son that the dreamland beckons through the mist and some day they will live in a beautiful house overlooking the marine drive. He will probably never make it, but the boy will grow up with a desire to make this dream come true for his parents. A quintessential slice of life of an Indian family. Truly uplifting.

I liked this sweet shot Durba mainly due to a family composition. The husband points out to something afar, and the wife traces along while the child, dreams apart, gazes at the wonder of the sea -- floating in the waves of his own world. They seem to be quite happy to take out some time to break the monotony of daily routine. Regards.

Hi Durba,
Being a person living in Mumbai (Bombay), I can certainly grasp the meaning of subtle dream toward which the father points his finger in the frame.
Owning a decent shelter has remained an unfulfilled dream for lot many families for years in the commercial capital of India. It has more to do with the apathetic government policies toward housing activity than the scarcity of land in the city.
If (& only if) the policy makers show some political will to ammend the present housing policy in favour of producing more houses, it's not immpossible to make thousands of families like this one turn their dream in to real(i)ty.
Everything in the frame is perfect including the apt choice of B&W & fading background.
TFS.
Regards.

Dear Durba,
This is an amazing photograph. eita kobe tulli? This photograph tells you so many stories, like it is a frame from a Ray movie. very balanced and well composed.
