Girl sitting, a photo from Rajasthan, West

Photographer's Note

A young lady sitting in front of her home. Bundi is an ancient town in Rajasthan. Once rich, now tattered. Only small local shops with little choice of goods, no restaurants except in hotels and tea shops. Not much to do exciting for locals. I wandered in old streets, explored a mostly deserted palace and fort. The local people were very nice, the food at my haveli (once a rich home) was excellent. Sonia Gandhi even dropped in by helicopter for 15 minutes during her campaign. The residents spend a lot of time sitting out front of shops, homes, and anywhere. They are not alone for long, someone will stop to chat.

The thumbnail was irresistible. This is a great composition Gloria. The positioning of the subject is excellent. The door we see behind is interesting. I love the colors too. Very vibrant. All together a super shot!

Although she poses, she is very relaxed and natural.

Almost looks as though this girl is framed against a pastel back drop. Nice color saturation, and well an overall well composed shot.

This is a great shot Gloria. I really like the colors too, the mottled blue backing the girl really provids a great backdrop. Your perspective of looking up into her face works very well too. I think I might be tempted to crop just a wee bit off the bottom below her feet, but then it's not really a big deal either. Well done!

Hi, Gloria, Never looked at your gallery in depth, i think this is such a superb arrangement of colors, with incredible vibrancy of tone. The light seems perfect to me, and how sharp! And the folds of her clothes against the geometry of the pastels around, like the leaves of an anemone. this is a pix i can to watch for a long time.
