Glory of the Bhagirathi, a photo from Uttarakhand, North

Photographer's Note

This is the view of the Bhagirathi I,II and III peaks from the Bhojbasa. As the evening sun gradually disappearing in the horizon, the last rays illuminate the glorious trio.

Bhojbasa is the place where trekkers and pilgrims stay for a night before moving towards the Gaumukh-the origin of the river Ganges. The famous Ashrama of Lalbaba offers a cozy stay out there against a minimum amount of donation.

Hi Avishek,
I like the clouds drifting over the peaks in this shot. I think the foreground is a bit too dark, but the illuminated mountaintops make up for it.

The mountain really looks beautiful contrasted against the shadows, Avishek. The dark clouds help to set it off. I think it might be even better if the foreground was not quite so dark--I'd like to be able to see it, as context for the peak. Still, it's beautiful as it is. Regards, Ken.

Darun Bhagirathi-r chobi! I think my father might have stayed at lalbaba's ashram 30 years ago!

Great lighting!! It must have been a true spectacle to witness. I think this might have been a good place to use an HDR - that would bring the underexposed foreground into correct exposure.

I see different picture out of mountains in India.
These is extraordinarily lovely through he low clouds and the specially light of the mountain in background.
