Photographer's Note
The final photo from my series from my visit to India in 1972:
Fatehpur Sikri is a memorable and remarkably well preserved city that was capital of the Mughal empire from 1571 to 1585 before being abandoned. The city was built from solid red sand stone. This photo, a scanned slide, (along with a few blemishes) shows the 5 tiered palace known as Panch Mahal on a day when the city was almost deserted.
