Road to Darjeeling - III : Another image from the Road to Darjeeling series.This shot was taken near Sonada which is halfway between Kurseong and Darjeeling.Sonada is a small town in the Darjeeling District of West Bengal, India. It is 17 km from Darjeeling town and 16 km from Kurseong. Mirik is 23 km away, Ghoom 8 km, Mangpu 8 km and Takdah 11 km. It lies on National Highway 55 connecting Darjeeling with Siliguri. Oaks Tea Estate, Mondakotee Tea Estate, Sonada Monastery, Tiger Hill, and Senchal Lake are some places of interest near Sonada. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train) passes through this town and there is a DHR railway station here.

Buna zuia Fabbs, a nice view of that road in Darjeeling area, I can see the toy train tracks on the left and an inhabitant close to her house gate, interesting capture showing the architecture and nature in that place

yes, i recognized the road and how it looks from your past posted photos.
I like the addition of the truck, gives it a more 'used' type of look i guess.
very cool looking architecture on the right as well.
I like the overall viewpoint and subjects.

Hi Farhat,

What a fun and learned journey this has been following you along the road to Darjeeling. Taking this while right in the middle of the road helps to put us along side as we view these bright and colorful homes in passing. Even having seen them before in your previous pictures, I still don't expect it...it's almost like seeing them for the first time, each time!? :) I really like the curious regard of the local, she adds a nice touch to the scene with the human element, letting us know there is in fact life along the road. :) Have a great day ahead.

Hello Farhat,
The small railway near the road, is in contrast to the other side of the road, where those buildings are.
marvelous long verandas on each of the houses, green and white colors are an eyes catching elements over the wonderful location shown.

Hello Farhat,
I like the perspective here; the houses on the right are unusual and very attractive. The person standing at their gate brings the scene to life. The lorry, whilst perhaps annoying in some respects, offers a splash of contrasting tone.

Tataaaaa! A lovely little place complete with narrow gauge tracks and a Tata water truck! (Or is it a septic truck?) Would you, by any chance, have a photo of the train station or one of the trains, for that matter?
A quaint little place I would not mind walking around and taking photos.

Hi Farhat,
This is a beautiful compliment to the last scene from this road, and this is just as beautiful again. I am taken in very much by those beautiful buildings, and would imagine enjoying a coffee very happily on the balcony there. The woman in the lower right adds a wonderful touch to the whole scene as well.

Hi Farhat,

The bright orange facade of the truck contrasts well against the green cyan tones of the adjacent building. Good sharpness and excellent color, lighting and saturation. The woman bottom right animates the scene. The railway track of the toy train at left is a familiar sight for me. Tfs!

another interesting view of a colourful neighbourhood the traveller finds on the way to Darjeeling. Your pictures of this series always have a comprehensive and interesting viewpoint, put us in the traveller's place and evoke their anticipation and curiosity. I like very much how you've included surprised and curious inhabitants in your photos establishing a great connection between them, their towns and the viewer. There's great perspective, depth and clarity in this picture despite the fact that it was taken through a car window. This series is an excellent idea. Congratulations and thank you!

A superb composition, with these beautiful houses well maintained, I guess that they belong to people of a certain economic level. Besides the setting is very nice surrounded by trees and flowering shrubs.

You're capturing well this place by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the building with colorful veranda along the road. hello,
a nice frame here from the street of Darjeeling. A rare view with crysp and clear sky. The red headed oil tanker made nice contrast with the cyan-blue house. Nicely spotted. Tfs.
