Road to Darjeeling - IV : This shot was taken near Tung on way to Darjeeling from Kurseong. Here you can see a mother waiting with her daughter by the roadside waiting to board a hired vehicle to Darjeeling.A Maruti omni van is standing idle next to them.The ominous dark monsoon clouds is hanging in the sky ready to pour down any moment.

Hi Farhat,
At first glance, it seems as if the people and the van are actually suspended in mid air, as the effects of the clouds behind are so vivid. This gives a brilliant sense of height to the image, and the van and people look very much of this place, traditional and part of a class shot.

Very nice capture of this rural scene. Transportation has evolved so much since my younger days growing up in the Philippines. I like effect of the cloudy on the mood. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Farhat,
Another charming photo and - you guessed it - an interesting vehicle. Did you take this from inside a vehicle? If you did, congrats, you eliminated all the adverse effects of the glass pane between you and your subject, all except the little bit of reflection above the lady's head. It is starting to get cool here in western PA, I think I am going to have a cup of tea in honor of this photo (Darjeeling, if I can find some).

You're capturing well this daily life shot by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the landscape from the highland's roadside and the mother/daughter waiting to board a hired vehicle. The whole is harmonized by a good color combination.

I don愒 know if you took this picture from inside a car,so if this just a reflection or last sun beams on the dark,dramatic sky,but it looks just magnificent!(I mean this light beams above the woman coming from the clouds.Did you notice it?for me looks really great)
But also other aspects and elements of your composition appeals to me much.The scene is well framed and timed and despite cloudy weather you were able to bring out really bright,vivid colors and good contrast between them.

Looking beyond the lady and girl along the road, we can comprehend the how high the ride is.
Clouds looks threatening, though.
Taking the photo through the car glas, can easily corrected the reflected shine on by PP.

Quite dramatic road scene, indeed: Those passengers waiting seem living isolated in the mountain and will suffer of the imminent bad weather!
Much perspective is offered by the view of dwellings down below.
Not the ideal moment for a paraglider flight from that high point!

hello Farhat, I have an experience how much fearful be the monsoon rain in hills. Here we can see the dark monsoon cloud in background gradually overlapping the greens. The local women with her cute daughter is waiting eagerly for a taxi. Even when your taxi is going to cross them, she is turning her head with a hope. Her slightly blurry face is telling the story... Your composition nicely described the story with a nice looks of nature. Colours are natural and good light. The reflection from your car glass can be cloned easily in PP. Overall an enjoyable one (as a photograph)... Tfs.

Hi Farhat,

The mother and child provide scale and animate the scene. The cloudy sky has given a superb diffused light which has allowed maximum shadow detail. Good graphism at right of the dark trees against the lighter sky. Sharpness is adequate. I am not sure about the 2 diagonal sunbeams at left. I may have cloned them out. Tfs!

una scena di vita che ci riporta nelle lontane regioni indiane con i suoi colori, i suoi paesaggi e soprattutto con il particolare clima monsonico quale il cielo fa presagire.
Il luogo sembra piuttosto impervio, ma hai avuto la costanza e la capacit� di documentarlo in maniera molto efficace.
Assai belli i colori e curata a dovere la composizione. Molto buona anche la nitidezza unita ad un buon contrasto.

the monsoon clouds create a threatening atmosphere in this scene.
Mother and her daughter provide a nice vitality into the composition, and I guess a small sun rays crossing the clouds, adding a beautiful element in the ensemble.

I very much enjoy your composition here -- the dark sky above, the land so far below! The mother and child are balanced by the trees and utility pole, and I love the look at the hired van -- Ferrari logos!
