Photographer's Note
Sunita, a Gypsy girl from Pushkar. The first photo I uploaded after coming back from my trip to India was with her - this one
and since I am going to India next week (if my passport with an Indian visa arrives back on time from Indian Embassy) I thought it is a good time to remind you how India is beautiful and colorful.
and I have lots of new photos from Wales and England, but since people prefer photos from Asia ...

Wonderful portrait, great colours. Sharp and well exposed. I think this is an improvement on your original with more natural tones and less distractions. Very good shot.

Incredibly subtle use of the DOF. What about having the ear rings in focus too ? Apart from this, I love it all ! Colors, compo, sharpeness. Great job Maciej !

This is so colorful and so beautiful, Maciek. The yellow dot between the eyes is very surprisng because I used to see a red dot, so what is the meaning of the yellow one?
I like very much the glow in her eyes. Great one!
Have a great journey to India, and come back safely.

Hi Maciej, I have seen your link and I like more this one. It has more light, and we can see better the details of her face, and ornaments. The composition is also very good, having located she on the left side, and the DOF used helps to increase the attention to her beauty. Very lucky to find she in your trip, and pose as a professional model. TFS, brgds from Barcelona.

Maciej, I love your India portraits. You always manage to capture the colors so well. It's not that we don't want to see your Wales an England photos, it's just that India is so much more interesting. No insult intended ofcourse. Good job.

She's beautiful and the colours are beautiful too. And I'm sure you will have a lot of new intresting photographs coming back from your next trip. Still don't give up on your new photographs from England. TE is not the world and the most important can't be to pleas as many people here as posible. I think you are a very good photographer, developing a lot the last time. Your Indian and asian photos are beautiful and easy to "take in" already at the first glance. But some of you new stuff is much more intresting, maybe need a little more than a glance at the thumbnail to appreciate. Well i really don't know to much about photography so maybe you should not listen to what I say. But their are a lot of very good photographers on this site that also appreciate you new stuff, maybe listen to them insted : )

These colors are so strong, so expressive, as the face of this woman. I was alsor wondering about the reflection in the eyes...

She looks like an Angel thanks to you, colors are very intense, the face of this gipsy girl is sharper than ever.
Thank you again for your picstures.

Piotr
PS, ja lubie Twoje zdjecia z Azji i z Europy.

Maciej, that is a wonderful shot. Absolutely stunning..
I love this one.
The Eyes.. they hold my gaze.. The background is colorful and so is her sari..
but her eyes have that warmth and liveliness that speaks more than all the colors around her.
Her 'kajal' (eye liner) enhances the beauty in her eyes.. and her simple smile is breathtaking.
Too good Maciej. You have a winner here.

Awsome set of colours and extremely sharp portrait proving the full capability of an $100 lens. The shallow depth of field reveals an harmonious blurred background. Even though, unlike you might think, I also appreciate what you've been posting from England, the colours on this one call for my applause. Compo wise, nothing very special.

ouaHHHHH, what a beautiful girl. I love it Maciek.. Very nice, can't wait for your new pictures from India..It's true that nowadays i guess I am too partial to Indian pictures, but the colors and the face are simply great..
Really love it.. i still don't undersatnd why you do get frustrated, because on your gallery you have so many good pictures to upload on TE.... funny enough, you don't seem to nbe picking the best all the time...
i'll bebacktomorrow for a smile

Very nice colorful portrait although with a simple stereotypic composition. I have to say that it's the subject that makes it a great shot not the photographer. I more like those shots of yours where you depict your own original idea.

wow!!!
What a wonderfull portrait.
Magic eyes.
Colors are great, good use of DOF.
I think you are one of the best in TE, your gallery is impressive, included those that are not from Asia.
Enjoy your travel.

Coming to this very late. So all has been said already. The eyes... they remind me of a Bollywood actress. This is a truly superb portrait. Congrats and well done. And please dont listen to Sohrab's screaming. :) Give us more of this. Definitely more enjoyable! ;)

Good luck to your India trip. And be careful.
I always look at your India gallery in pbase and I think TE people have only seen 25% of it. The other 75% (some pics are even better thatn what you've posted here) is ouht to be seen by most of us here. A book would even be a good idea. You are the best photographer of Indian (scenery and people) here in TE. No doubt about it.

Stunning colours & sharpness, with the tight crop isolating & emphasising the details. I like the transparency of the veil. Good work!

I'm a bit later to add anythign original here. but dont be too hard on yourself. i can imagine your frustration, but enjoy what you have and you certainly have an eye for photography. Of course, we all enjoy your indian shots the subjects are colourful, the compositions exoctic, but your recent work in Wales was also different. The painter in cardiff for instance. You see photographs around you where ever you are and that is a talent.
I hope you get your visa in time, take care and relax......(where will you go anyway?)

Wow, Maciek, because of Eric's comments, I saw this picture, it's lovely, it's fresh, full of life and full of color. Her eyes are marvellous!
I do not completely agree with you about your pictures from Wales, I already told you, that I thought you were finding your spot in Wales. it takes time to adapt, and adjust, but I still think you see the moments, and that's at the base of good photographing.
I am happy for you that you go back to India. Enjoy, and bring us nice pictures. Take care
BTW, maybe you should read Jose Elias thread here, if you haven't already.

This image is a great advertisment for an Indian experience. I was there earlier this month, and would pleasingly recommend others to visit - there is never a shortage of things see, smell and feel. An outstanding place .... complimented by this outstanding image.

Don't take this the wrong way but the only thing I don't like is your reflection in her eyes! I don't mean you, I mean the look haha. Anyway like your chioce of photographers. Good influence of McCurry here. Great colours, DOF and use of a good background.
