Photographer's Note
Thanks to Chhering Chhoden, teacher from Tabo who teaches at Ki Gompa school in Kaza, he not only allowed us spend some quality time with local teachers an kids but also surprised us (me and my friend from Mumbai)with a unmatchable tasty thunderbolt cups of tea. Along with tea with Chhering, Surendra and Parveen(Other two teachers who stay at what could hardly be called as HOSTEL,)we shared our two worlds, separated by Mighty Kunzum and Rohtang Peaks(I am from Chandigarh if you ignored that initially. Something I am sure enthusiast 'd like to know about Kaza and Ki's culture, especially education system. As told by my more than genrous friends at Ki:
"Kids from nearby village are exempted of fine if they fail to attend the classes during harvest season and this is where role of villagers-teachers association comes into play. Religion, administeration and society weaves a unique web in Spiti that helps everyone here to survive and contribute to development at every front. Teachers are paid their salaries in Lump sum, in packages of 9 months and 3 months one time. It does wonder for them too as they are able to save better or purchase some thing enormous for event and occasions."
It feels great to visit these teachers living in hostels besides Monasteries. They shower their visitor with hospitality and warmth. Get a taste of cross culture hospitality while sharing a cup of tea with them, and don't forget to share their concern over families adverse climatic conditions, if you happen to be a gentleman or nice lady."
In the picture you see what I too have done 100 times when I was a kid. A wise competent not only works towards his own skill improvisation but also keeps an sharp EYE on antidot for what others already have (Or may write or know)....Jokin'!!

Hi Manu.
Very nice composition. Nice warm colors, great lighting, and good depth. I like the moment you have captured- as the boy looks over to see the other's work.

merci

very nice manu, a lot of concentration here, they're totally immersed in their work.. very nice quality and a good pov, just perhaps if you were a bit lower and to the right, it would have helped to eliminate the overlaps in the kids and the picture on the wall..

Splendid, first class double portrait, Manu. The colors and lighting are superb, but more than that there is an earnestness about this shot, a seriousness and dignity that positively shines forth.
A big Bravo!
Francis
