Boy...you'd be hard pressed to prove this was 2006 I think. Looks great with the heavy B&W bokeh and that great subject seemingly still trying to sell you something as you take this shot.

Nice portraiture Alain;

I like the fact that he's holding what he is selling for the camera, good DOF, and the inner dark random frame (nice touch).
I would prefer a bit more sharpening though.

Hi Alain,
A very soft and tender rendition of this old man. A lump rises up my throat when I think of this peaceful man at an age when he should relish his retirement with grandkids milling around him, yet he must peddle his wares to make ends meet. Sad yet beautiful. THanks for this photo.

pretty good portrait Alain, composition is what you intended to be, street vendor showing it's items with the background on the street.
I do have som reservations:
1) experiment with the frame, don't like it one bit, looks like digital film frame wannabe.
2) dof is a bit too shallow.
3) contrast, think would prefer different solution, like the contrasts of the man, but background could be either more contrasty, or much brighter, would make him stand out even more.
Other than that I have no other suggstions;-)

Format carre? Pourquoi pas. Un portrait comme on voudrait en voir plus sur TE, Alain. Tout y est: un fond tout a fait intelligible a travers le bokeh, un sujet principal interessant avec beaucoup de caractere.
Tres reussi.

Un retour de l𥕜nde fructueux, avec une s廨ie fort int廨essante, Celle-ci est la premi鋨e que je vois, mais elle m𠿟 ammen� aux pr嶰嶮entes.

Excellente composition, parfaitement cadr� - j𠿟ime bien ce format carr� - o� cet homme semble volontaire pour prendre la pause, mais non sans laisser tomber son gagne-pain. Il s𠿟git donc d𠌊ne photo v廨it� qui illustre bien l侊ccupation de ce vendeur de rues.

Excellente profondeur de champ qui vient concentrer l𠿟ttention sur son regard.

A most unique shot!...
I see this old man in synonym with the ancient culture of India, with Balamurugan[young lord muruga] and young christ in his hands held equally...
I can see his tiredness & wariness showing up just like the general mass in this country.
A nice metaphoric & pleasing portrait.

superbe ce vendeur dans son cadre 6x6 !
tout est bien a sa place ici, et la profondeur de champ me dirige inexorablement en direction de ses magnifique lunette que je recherche depuis des ann嶪s.
Je trouve le NB un peu trop gris a la fa蔞n des T-max 100 asa .
Une belle prise !

Perfect portrait. I enjoy the B&W medium, it looks very well with this photo. Also the DOF of this photo is very well acheived to enhance the subject. Good framing as well.

sympa sans plus ... je n'aime pas trop la finalit� de l'image
c'est super gris et je trouve le cadre un peu flottant, alors que le choix carr� aurait d� normalement donner plus de force ... mais je pense que les choix sont ici trop timor廥 pour aller au bout du concept ...
le format carr� sur une base 2/3 est d嶴� un concept � lui seul ...
on pourra not� une bordure cadre "vilaine" voir m瘱e de mauvais go壻 en l'彋at.
j'avais lu un "bloc note" fort int廨essant de Jean Christophe Br嶰het (RP) qui consistait � dire "pourquoi vouloir imiter un rendu argentique sur un clich� num廨ique, � travers des artifices" ... en gros l'id嶪彋ait de dire "assumons nos choix" ... � m嶮iter ...
sinon, j𠿟ime bien cet homme � lunettes ;) ...

As a Photo this is nice one..No doubt..but By seeing this old man as Indian I can seethis is street vendor but really hard to interprete as a Street vendor a story lining in that regards.

Salut Alain, j'aime bien la posture pos嶪 (mais pas avec un sourire d嶵ile) du monsieur, sa chemise pas cram嶪, 蓷 manque peut-皻re un poil de contrastes et le bokeh est un poil fort pour moi, j'aurais bien aim� voir plus de l'漷ri鋨e-plan. Le choix du carr� je ne sais pas, tu avais quelque chose de pas montrable � droite ?

Juste un peu grisouille peut-皻re...
le carr� et bokeh marchent pour moi... ouais il y a juste le contraste � revoir amha.

excellent portrait of this old street vendor. his face clearly shows us how hard it is to earn livings for a street vendor, particularly when age is not at your side. tfs.

Voici un beau portrait,mis en valeur par son cadrage peu commun.
J'aime bien le contraste entre le s廨ieux du vendeur et ses produits, qui pour nous europ幯es paraissent si kitch.
