Photographer's Note

Again a typical sunday morning on one of the ghaats of river Hooghly.
It seems as if time has come to a standstill in these bathing ghaat of kolkata..they take you back to the world of Huxley's Benaras or Renoir's The River..It is in these ghaats where you can still come across characters like the Pehelwaans or the traditional wrestlers..sadhus..or this scantily clad Coolie or luggage bearer .
Along with these unique characters one can also discern those people who call this ghaat their home..to whom this is their whole world..where they eat, sleep,bathe..where they live n they die.

Hi..!! Ananya,

good shot but I would like to point out two things to you here..:

1)Looking at the pic the subject appears to be the coolie who is in the foreground but he is motion blurred . This blurred subject is not complementing the photograph because the eyes are getting concertrated on him thereby concealing the other beautiful life you have captured on the ghat.your subject should be sharp.

2)From your wonderfully written note It appears that you have given more priority to the ghat and this man is just another part of this Ghat.In this case the ghat gets eclipsed behind this blurred man.

Another thing write your name on the frame and not on the pic..write it in white color on the black frame..thats will look nice.

The photograph in all is very well conceptualised but just think if this man in his daily endevour would have been sharp, how beautiful this photograph would have become.

You have an eye of a photographer and your perception is great so utilise it..and give us some mind blowing shots.

I hope I have not disappointed you..!!!I will give you point s here for the thought process you were in at the time of taking the pic because that talks a lot about your photographic acumen.

Good one Ananya but as Indro has said the motion blur often a nice addition does not work here as it occupies 2 prime a place. But good pic overall to capture the early morning ghat mood.
