Photographer's Note

On my way to Alchi in Ladakh. There is not a limit to how many people can fit on any bus. When this one leaves, people will be hanging on the ladder, the sides, out the door. They have no fear, perfect balance! Alchi was a four or more hair raising hour ride from Leh, on mountain sheer drop mountain edges. I never saw anyone fall yet. The buses stop for a break at tea stands. They often are small rustic shops, or tables outside. The tea is delicious, and simple snacks. They usually have samosas, pastries with potaotoe inside, and sometimes whole meals. Tibetian stands might have momos, dumplings with meat, cheese or vegetable filling.
