Photographer's Note
All day, every day, beggers non stop, in Paharganj, Delhi. I rarely take a photo. It is too sad in Delhi for me. I wonder about what pride or ego could even be left for these people? I wish I spoke Hindi and could write their stories. They cannot all be lazy, or born begger caste? Widows, old people, people who lose their farms, often end up jobless roaming the streets.

I love the way the bright white light from the street surrounds this man - it is almost painful to the eyes to look at him. A very brave photo.
