Photographer's Note

Every three months a man with a pedal bicycle walks the streets of Delhi, spraying poison on everyone and everything. On his bicycle is an extremely noisy machine pumping a dense fog, that completly fills the streets for a few minutes. He sprays all the food being cooked and served, popcorn, fried potatoes, chai, samosas, curd, naan, fruit, vegetables, snacks, everything on the streets. He misses nothing. The stores and restaurants normally spill unto the sidewalk areas, and usually are completly open. It takes a few minutes for the fog to lift. No warning is given. All the locals act as though nothing has happened. The foreigners pack up and run. I sat and drank my chai, thinking he had an bad engine on his bike, (to power it). He stopped up ahead of my outdoor cafe, and shut the poison spray off for a minute. Then I found out I was breathing mosquito poison, and left to shower. I was covered in it. I think this is a very bad and dangerous idea to spray everyone with no warning. The spray is rather pinkish, and I have no idea what it is.
