Photographer's Note
HI!!
Again after a long long time I am posting in T.E.
The photographs I am posting is from a world famous hindu festival know as DURGA PUJA OR DURGOTSAV , famous in Kolkata only ..
Its effect is kinda similar to the Brazilian carnival where the people enjoy all through out the day and the streets are filled with joy and laughter.. The most amazing thing is that it goes on for 4 days and every street is filled thousands of people even at 2 am ..
The main attraction is the idols that are created here and many special areas where people work hard day and night to make pandels ..
The pandels are ( its hard to explain )kinda ambiance and themes created defining the divine powers , mercy and kindness of the almighty in an artistic way . Not all pandels are made with so much skills but there is at least 25 every year..
This one is a small example of how uniquely and wonderfully they make the pandel .. The skills are really God gifted .. Everything is made by pure hand work...
Every year thousands of pandels are created with every time a whole new drama and theme at each areas...

Hi Sayan,
That's a good attempt in exposing the DURGOTSAV to the outer world.
The Golden tone is beautiful.
Looking for the series.
My wishes.

Hi Sayan
Pas mal le cadrage serré pour mieux appréçier les détails et la couleur doré, un beau contraste avec le ciel, j'ai bien aimée la note de ce grand moment de fête dans la joie
Have a nice weekend for you

Hello Sayan
This was in Lake Town, if I’m not mistaken, I visited this pandal during the day time. Fine details captured in the artificial light on the fantastic work of art (Bishnupur Horse) made from jute fibre. Very sharp considering handheld. Well done!

Angshu
PS : If you don’t mind Sayan, I’ve added your picture to my theme ‘Durga Puja in Kolkata – The Art of Creation’.
