Photographer's Note

A glimpse of some rajasthani women at the camel fair ground in Pushkar. Unfortunately taking close up portraits of them was almost impossible because they were nearly violently assaulting you to take a picture of them for money. I guess too many tourists played this game before and now almost everyone is crying out for roupies whenever they just see your camera. The climate was very tensed for taking pictures, especially for us who were travelling as two women. Observing people around me I felt male travellers were more respected.

Hallo Leonie. Indien. Rajasthan. Das ist Exotik pur. Dein Photo zeigt etwas von der Faszinatuion, die dieses Land auf Besucher aus暅t. Mit Deiner Kamera hast Du eine interessante Szene eingefangen. Vor allem die bunt und sch霵 gekleideten Frauen sind ein Blickfang. Sehr sch霵. Viele Gr晧e, Wolfgang.

Hi leonie, i like your note, how times change, I remember well back in the early 70's the people at Pushkar fair shyed away from us, having not seen too many foreigners and would never in a million years had the braveness to ask for money.
I think this image may be improved if you cropped the bottom and the left side, get rid of the men.

Hey Leonie,
Interesting notes, and I guess this is why the shot is taken from so far away! but none the less I think it's a good shot with nice colours, and taken from a good view point. In many ways the distance is nice because we get to see the surroundings a little better. I also would probably have cropped out the men at the bottom (or cloned them out).
Fine shot though, thanks for sharing with us :)
