Photographer's Note

This was taken in the streets of Nawalgargh, one of the villages in the Shekawati region in Rajasthan which used to be a very wealthy region with rich merchants' palaces until the 1950s. Trade routes then changed and the region became abandoned leaving all these fabolous "havelis" behind who are now in very bad state. Hopefully the government will wake up one day to save its cultural heritage before it's too late.
