Famous Festival in Japan 4, a photo from Gifu, Chubu

Photographer's Note

This is the forth installment of the Takayama festival, one of the biggest in Japan.

This young lady was preparing to join the other 100 strong performers on the street, so if you see the past photos, you can see the other costumes people wore.

The colours were just so bright and adorable.

I just managed to capture this whilst part of her sleeve was blown by the wind.

I also noticed that I was caught by the man with the strange hat too, Argggghhhhhhhhhhhh.

The festival rocked though

Lovely costumes and the shot is really enhanced by the blowing sleeve. The light on the woman is good, too bad the shadow under that great hat is so strong.

Great composition, good colours too, It's only a shame the man's face is in the shadow, But I know he wearing a hat. well done.

The picture is bright and vivid because of the young lady's costume of course. As for the hat, it is funny and amusing, especially the way it throws shadow on the man's face and makes it unvisable. Well done.
