Something more from the massive archive that has been building up over the past 9 years.

I previously had a short lived relationship to someone in Osaka, and for the latter parts of 2013 I spent quite some time in Osaka, Japan.

One of the evenings I had a stroll around Osaka Castle as this scene presented itself. Not ideal with the sunset colors, but still quite nice.

Japan has a lot of castles in the style that is truly unique for Japan. But as with many many others they were mostly built of wood and were very prone to fire, both from domestic causes and intentionally in war and conflict.
The current Osaka Castle is a modern concrete reproduction, open to the public and functions as as museum with a large public park area surrounding the castle.

HDR photo merged from 3 autobracketed photos, edited with Photoshop CC and Photomatix plugin.

Perfect time to capture the effects of the evening light before the sky is completely dark while still having the daylight to your advantage! I like your viewpoint as the bridge leads to the imposing castle extending a great sense of depth while the pretty sky is an icing on the roll. Great image

Everything is very well made from 3 autobracketed photos, with dark part but also nice enlightenment to the building.
Technical a very well picture.
Also composition and presentation make your picture attractive.

Hi Odd,
a nice sunset scene here, I love the soft light of this special moment, while the sky is still blue, and the lighting of this wonderful japanese architecture of the castle, though it's a concrete reproduction of the original one.
A well chosen framing, which enhances the deep perspective of the bridge, which leads our eyes directly towards the castle.
A great composition, under a difficult exposure, that you've solved efficiently.
