Photographer's Note

They are junior high school students and actress for "KABUKI". "Kabuki" starts from noon, but they stand by from early morning. Beacause preparation for make-up, clothes and wig takes so long time. They kill the time and enjoy catting while taking snacks (fried potato). This area belongs to high mountains so temperature is rather low, they neeed thick coat.

Wonderful candid shot, Takero - the makeup is intended for far more formal display, but you've caught them in a relaxed off-moment, which adds interest to the shot.

Hello Takero,

A lovely incisive portrait of the Junior High school student, enjoying a snack. I attended a National Geographic Photography workshop in Washington last Sunday, and the two world-class photographers advised everyone, "Attend festivals. Go early, and take photos of the participants before they begin to march, when they are relaxed and candid."

I don't know or I good a image of Tokio yesterday evening on TE a new earthquake, is this correct, or a fantastia of the TV.
You use a very quick exposure time or are these people in move.
Excellent composition, good presentation and soft colors.

The desaturated colours add an extra attraction to this fascinating portrait. It's a well taken picture and a well captured moment. The girl's face is strangely painted and she seems to have her mind somewhere else, not caring at all about your camera.

the interaction between the two actors' looks, their make up, the tight frame and the tones produced by the artificial lighting have given this scene a dramatic quality which is intriguingly combined with the simple and natural gesture of eating fried potatoes:) I like very much the way the actress's face stands out against the blurriness and the homogeneous tones.
