Drift Culture, a photo from Fukushima, Tohoku

Photographer's Note

During my visit to Japan, I had a few friends who were hooked on the drifting scene so they managed to get me tickets to a drifting event at Ebisu Circuit. It was great being there experiencing Japan's car drifting culture. For the competition, points are awarded to the drivers for style, guts, and technical driving. For the paired races, each driver is given at least one opportunity to lead and the trailing car has to keep up or try to pass the leader. I took a lot of photos on the track and heres one from the day's event. The track was still wet from the morning rain so there's a nice reflection of the car sliding by.

Drfiting...it's so much more fun when you can do it sideways at over 140km/h!

Very nice job!!! You shot your camera in the best moment and you got fantastic deatails! Good colours! Maybe I wouldn't have added a frame, but that's my taste...

Waouhhhh ca c'est du fil�, c'est incroyablement bien g廨�.
En plus, cette voiture noire avec cette bande turcquoise sur ce goudron sombre, ca donne un truc assez fou.
Impressionnante qualit� sur ce fil�, c'est juste parfait !
EN plus, le tilt et la position de la voiture donnent un dynamsime incroyable !

Hi Bennett,

I think, technically speaking, this shot was executed perfectly. The motion blur of the road from panning, and the sharpness and clarity of the car are both very amazing. I think the composition could be better if the car were placed different in the frame, but not much you can do for that on a photo like this. Very nice work, and it looks like a fun thing to shoot as well. Thanks for sharing!
