Photographer's Note
The Patuxai or Patuxay is one of the well-known landmarks in Lao PDR. It is also known as the Victory Arch, Victory Gate or Gate of Triumph. It is located at the end of Land Xang Avenue in the heart of Vientiane. The Patuxai was built during a turbulent period in Lao history. It was built when Laos was a constitutional monarchy and was originally known simply as the "Anousavali" ("memory"), dedicated memory of the Laotian soldiers who died during World War II and the independence war from France in 1949. Hello Mics,
You choose a very nice angle, this create depth and perspective with the "Victory Arch" as big subject.
One advice, I would a tool use for a little more sharpness, this is personal.
Notwithstanding a very nice picture with flowers and also as daily life picture.
An excellent composition, lovely presentation too..
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Ciao Mics
un arco di trionfo asiatico, sembra il centro di Parigi, ma con un'architettura locale.
Bella condivisione, non conoscevo questo luogo. Bella anche la prospettiva.

Hello Mics,
Another name for this mini Arc De Triumph is 'the vertical runway', on account of the money that was earmarked for the new airport, was spent on the construction of this edifice. I liked Vientiane, but loved Luang Phrabang. Nice repetition of the lampposts and reasonable sharpness. The street adds strong lead in lines. Tfs.

Hi Mics
this is very uncommon on TE i think. we don't get to see very many street scenes like this from Laos, too bad because I'd like to see more.
and this is my first time seeing this Victory Arch too.
thanks for showing it here, I guess you could say i've learned something new today.
horrible news about that lady who was killed falling off that cliff edge! yikes
enjoy your day

Hi Mics,
beautiful architecture, I have never seen it before. Very well composed photo as well, the effect is very pleasing.
The only thing which I think could be improved is the sharpness. On my computer it appears a bit not sharp. You should always increase the sharpness of a photo after decreasing the size. I wonder if you do it?
Great reportage,
M
