This was taken on Pulau Selingaan in the Turtle Islands Marine Park about 40km off the coast of Sandakan in the Malaysian state of Sabah.

The journey out is undertaken on a boat seating about 20 people which seemed pretty small for the journey to be undertaken. However, as you can see the water is calm, so all was well. Sadly there is a lot of rubbish in the water around the port of Sandakan.

Turtles come to these islands to lay their eggs which are then recovered by rangers and incubated elsewhere on the island.

I captured this girl running onto the jetty but until this morning hadn't noticed there are two other children sitting in the shade. The original photo is only 3MP so there is a limit to what I can do to highlight them. You will just have to look more closely.
