Photographer's Note

Malaysia is celebrating her 48th birthday on 31st August. It is a public holiday for the whole nation on this day. National day parade for this year will start in Putrajaya Boulevard. As reported in newspaper, 32,825 people will involve in the parade. I won't be there as I usually shy away from grand celebration like this.

I took this photo in Tugu Negara (National Monument) last month. In this photo, only 2 of the 7 bronze figures were shown. You can view the full monument here Full national monument view

Here are some of the facts.
The National Monument is 15.54m comprises seven bronze figures and a soldier holding up a national flag. It was constructed in 1966 and was designed by Austrian sculptor Felix de Weldon, who was also responsible for Iwo Jima Memorial Monument in Washington. The monument was erected in memory of fallen heroes who gave their lives during World War II and the Emergency (1948-60).

The sun was just nice for taking photos. Only adjusted contrast and resize for TE.
