Photographer's Note
Good day to all TE members ! Glad to be back here and share some photos. I was away from TE for almost a month as work and other priorities were in the way.
I made a working trip to Penang late last month. It was a four-day trip by flying from KL to Penang. Of course my trusty camera would accompany me as well.
I have a few photos to share in the coming days. Most of the shots were taken around the hotel I was staying in Georgetown.
Glad to meet up with our TE member in Penang, KC Lai, I had a good time meeting and chatting with him during my stay. More to come on that in other photo.
I reached Penang in the afternoon and checked in to the hotel. I was staying on 16th floor and have a good view of the sea. The above photo is the exect view from the window. Penang is a seaport and you can read more about this great place here. Development is always happening and you can see some old and new buildings. Some famous landmark can be seen here. The hotel near the sea is E&O Hotel and the building in blue at the bottom right is Cheong Fatt Tze mansion.
I took this photo at about 2PM. It was a sunny day and good for me to capture the colors of the place. The window of this hotel is tinted and I had to correct the white color in Photoshop. I did the levelling and cropped out the space. Adjusted colors and contrast.
A nice view I would say and I sure look at the view during my 4-day stay without fail. 8-)

Hi Chai
That's a nice one, with excellent sharpness and clearness. Crystal clear, my friend.
You are in luck of having the cool sky with some heavy clouds presents to make the view an interesting one.
Well, my friend, I think you got some wrong info with the building next to E&O. The purple building on the left is not Cheong Fatt Tze. The one at the right side in blue color is the Cheong Fatt Tze building.
Hope I get you right, friend.
So, are you cming over again for the Nine Emperor Festival?
Cheers and take care.

Hi Chai, nice to see you back...
A beautiful capture of this nice city!
I notice the absence of smog, leaving you with good colours and clear details even in a distance...
Well framed cityscape, and presented in a nicely balanced composition with a wonderful sky!
Greetings,

Hi Chai,
I am sure you enjoyed the Penang Kway Teow with the 'Ham' too beside looking out of your hotel windows. I must admit it is a lovely scene from here and all the other elements are most helpful and very well taken care of. I also enjoyed the beautiful colours of the day. Wonderful shot!! All the best.

Hej Chai,
Nice view over this part of the city and the sea. The composition is good with the buildings placed well in the picture. The light and colours are both very pleasant. Well done!
Hilsen,
Lars

Hi Chai. Your hotel window gave you an excellent POV over this part of town, and your PP to compensate for the window tint has worked very well - in fact it seems to have had a nice polarising effect on the clouds. You were lucky to have such a good sky for a backdrop to this - the last time I was in Penang it was blanketed in smoke haze and I was not able to get any good photographs. Cheers . . . David

Hi Chai, it has been a while since you lasted posted. As always seeing Penang, brings fond memories of yesterdays gone by, a little over 20 years ago. It's gut wrenching especially seeing the blue sky with cottony clouds. Beautiful afternoon when you took this Chai. That's photography Chai. It evokes memories. The kind of sweet memories which at times, can be more wrenching. Colors, just like smell as well as good composition, touches something in everyone's soul.
