Photographer's Note

World War 2 pillbox built by the British at the Pantai Melawi seafront. Many pillboxes were built along the North Eastern seaboard of Malaya as the enemy were expected to land on the East Coast. 2 warships were stationed off the coast

However, the enemy came from the North vide rail routes. The 2 ships were sunk in minutes. The British fled to the South.
