Photographer's Note

Surprisingly enough, Sagaing isn't a touristic destination, and only a few visitors pass by for a day trip. Yet, it was a highlight of my trip in Myanmar.

There's only a newly built hotel in town, the other one having been destroyed in a earthquake two weeks before my visit. Another sign indicating that tourists aren't as many here, is that the people are extremely welcoming and friendly.

The feel of the town is absolutely fabulous, quite laid back and in some areas, evoking country side. Numerous sacred hills surrounding the town are crowded with monasteries and pagodas and although monks are everywhere in Myanmar, here, they are practically outnumbering dogs, cats and general population...

I came across this young monk while visiting one of the monasteries.

P.S.: After reading your critiques, I should mentioned that the monk isn't coming out behind curtains, but rather from drying monk robes, thus the similar color.
