Photographer's Note
The Kakku Waku festival in Burma; also the Pao National Day. The Pao are a hill tribe of around 1 million who now administer their own lands as part of a peace agreement with the 'Generals'. The headwear style is traditional, but towels are now used instead of the 'old fashioned' velour.
