obliging to luko's invitation to join the "furachan stalk", here's my tribute to the famed sewing machine. (o.k. it may actually be one of them cheaper chinese knock offs, the same style though..) i have many a fond memories rocking on the pedal of my grandmother's, turning the wheel. electricity being often unreliable, they are still preferred over electrical ones in many places in myanmar. i caught these beauties in pyin u lwin (formerly may myo) at the local market. you can buy the cloth and have your longyi, shirt, blouse or sari ready the next day.

Deloightful addition to the others. You really framed this one just right, all along that slight diagonal across the frame, with suitably diminishing sharpness.

Good one, Mark we're cornering the man... Let's see how he behaves under total stress now ;D ...

I like the parallel alignments of the sewing machines and the boards hanging from the ceiling on the left hand side. It's amazing the number of vertical lines in this shot : from left to right pillars, boards, longyi fabrics, sewing machine frames.. it gives the image a lot of rythm.

Have a longyi on the next day? Well they were overbooked then, It didn't take more than half an hour for the ones I bought in Mandalay market.

The light and the colour give life to the photo, and the composition with this strong diagonal add interest to the photo.
A good daily life.

Good one Mark. I think an excellent perspective here and quite an original looking shot. The blowouts in the background are unfortunate, but they really don't do much harm. I find the whole shot to be a little bright, once you calibrate your monitor though, I am sure it would look a little different. Good shot.
