Hi Vincent, this is a great shot of transportation people used in Asia. Cambodia too, if you had a chance to travel to rural area. Very nice focus and sharpness. The dust behind made this photo rich in its quality. Nicely done. Sothy

i like the photos taken with a zoom which "flatten" the third dimension compressing the scene to one layer...effect - intesnifying the cloud of sand...
i'd maybe go for a less central composition but still i do like this image a lot...

cette photo est pleine de vie, la poussiere soulevée par la charrette recrée bien cette amtosphere de sécheresse, un contre jour pas evident a faire sur cette course a leau qui va devenir le probleme numero 1 de nombreux pays.

I did not know that Myanmar has water problems. I was told that the rainy season is very wet. That road to Bagan is from where? Is it easy to travel by road? I am thinking from Sittwe to Bagan and Mandalay. Your picture shows very well how this country stopped many years ago. Very nice colours and a great POV. Well done.

These unmetalled roads may not be the best ones for the travellers but they never fail to provide the avid photographers with excellent photo opportunities. I had just critqued one of Leo's photos also from Myanmar with a very similar perspective, I guess you know which one. Splendid work!

You caught this one at the decisive moment, and the dust not only enhances the scene but speaks to the issue of water supply and long distance travel referenced in your fine note. I like the background trees here, as well as the apparition like figures seen in the dust. Very well captured, Vincent.

I find this picture better that your previous image, here we see more detailed picture, I like very much the contrast between the dust and the sharp details of the trees and of the cart, also the silhouette of the man in background care for a nice composition.

This is great Vincent, and the light shining through the dust kicked up by the hooves of the oxen gives this a wonderful atmosphere.
I'm not sure about the central placement of the ox cart though, maybe this would have worked better with it positioned further to the left of the frame.
It's a great shot though, well done.

Le lumiere sur la poussiere donne un cache a cette photo qui reflete une jolie scene de la vie cotidienne a dans les regions rural des pays sousdevelopees. J'aime bein la composition avec les gens au fond, ca ne me derrange pas qui le sujet soit centree dans ce cas-ci.

Hi Vincent, a strong daily life scene captured very well; excellent exposure, esp. in the area with shadows, that looks excellent and we clearly see the details. The centered compo doesn't bother me, on the contrary, there's a subtle partial symmetry due to the oxes, which I find appealing. Regards, Daniel

This is superb Vincent! I agree with you that to lose the people on the left would spoil this image and lose much of the atmosphere. Rules are made to be broken and this time it is right to break the rules. I love the way the cattle and cart seem to be emerging from their dust cloud. Excellent! I have no points left today but if I remember I shall be back tomorrow.

comme tu dis, pour moi la personne en silhouette dans la poussière est un élément essentiel à la réussite de cette image.
Pas trop de traces de poussière sur le capteur ? :)

This is a wonderful image, Vincent, that captures the dry and dusty atmosphere of this region very well. Excellent focus and DOF. You could have got around the centering issue that a few have mentioned by cropping a little from the left and bottom, but then we would not have seen so much of the dirt road which is an integral part of this image. this is a very dynamic scene! Interesting, good composition. Actually, I do not mind a centered composition (which, maybe, is against photo rules :))
Excellent contrast between the cart and the "glowing" clouds of dust behind it! the people in the BG look like phantoms appearing out of nowhere... or disappearing?
