This picture was taken of a local sherpa boy (right) and his Nepali friend who lived a 15 minute walk up hill from Shivalaya, which was day two of our Jiri-Gokyo Everest Base Camp trek (classic route). Our guide told us that the boy on the right was Sherpa but he may be Rai. I am not sure the ethnicity of the boy on the left so I apologize for my ignorance as their are so many distinct cultures living in the lower hills of eastern Nepal. These boys were lived on a local farm and were herd local live stock when they stopped us and asked for a picture and balloons. I took a picture but we did not have balloons however we did eat breakfast at one of their family members small kitchen. Although not in the Sagarmatha area I labeled it as so because I could not find Shivalaya on trek dart state/city.
