High up in the misty mountain, a photo from Kalinga-Apayao, Cagayan Valley

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken while traversing the long and winding road going to Calanasan, Province of Apayao. Apayao is a landlocked province in the Philippines and is part of the Cordillera Administrative Region. The town of Calanasan is predominantly rugged and mountainous. Apayao is subdivided into seven municipalities belonging to one legislative district . Half of the population of Apayao are Ilocanos and the other half belong to other ethnic groups such as the Kalinga𠏋, Ibaloi and Kankanaey.

My trip to this place was part of my staff-support role when my boss made an official visit to the farthest community level office under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Hello Michelle

I'm mildly surprised that this image has so far attracted no comments, as it's an interesting landscape. I like the silhouetted trees against the white mist in particular. Just maybe a fraction less sky (though of course the blue is beautiful), and a fraction more foreground. I don't know: what do you think?

Hello Michelle,

It's been much too long since I saw one of your photos. The thick fog between the hills on the way to Calanasan makes one of those memorable scenes. The day you posted it, I was in South East Asia also, and just beginning to prepare for the long trip home.

The fog between the trees and the mountains in the background gives an interesting atmosphere to the scene, and the image has very good depth! Excellent colors and sharpness! Wonderful job!
